When I transplanted the UDJA 330 CD/RW in the Matshita Expansion Bay Module for my Pismo, I purchased mine on ebay (Matshita CD/DVD) for around $45. The previous owner claimed it didn't play DVD's, but when I received it I had no problem playing DVD's on it, but I only played two DVD's. ebay is the only place I know of that you can purchase the drive for a price that will justify doing the transformation, but if you only want a drive to use, the many vendors like http://www.powerbookguy.com/pismo.html seem to carry them. I see he has two Matshita drives for sale right now for $179.
