The Orinoco will indeed fit in some Apple Laptops. The Kanga, Mainstreet, Wallstreet, PDQ, Lombard and Pismo Thinkpads will all happily run an Orinoco Gold. And somehow you can persuade the Thinkpad to use the AirPort driver to run the card.

Now, I know that the IBM Personal Computer gave rise to the more generic term PC, but I don't think that the IBM Thinkpad is going the same route...:-P

(As a matter of fact, I've actually had users refer to PC laptops as 'Powerbooks', which has lead to the odd doubletake on occasion here, when a student comes to the door and tells whoever answers that 'They have a problem with their powerbook'

They're directed to me, (since everyone else in the office thinks Macs have cooties or something), then the student pulls something like an old Compaq out of their book bag...)

Me: "Well, I can tell you the problem with your Powerbook right now! Someone's slipped you a cheap substitute..."

(And the Orinoco cards will work in any Mac laptop that has a pcmcia slot, including the TiBooks; a trick some folks have used to get decent range out of their TiBook, as the antenna is external to the 'book at that point)
