I have a Canon LiDE 30 that I use with Panther (currently 10.3.3) on my 15" Al PB. Works great. I like the size and portability, since I carry it around in my laptop bag with the PB. It's also bus-powered, so no need to drag along a separate power adapter. This model is not USB 2.0, but I believe that they have a model (LiDE 80?) that is. It's speedy enough for my needs, though (I typically scan at 150-300 dpi, depending on what I'm doing).
That's the main reason I was considering the LiDE scanners. They are so thin and light, they would fit easily in my laptop bag with my 15" AL PB.
I had read that they are pretty slow on high res scans but I guess just for scanning stuff for Photoshop Digital illustrations, that wouldn't be too much of a concern.
The boxes for the LiDE 20 and 30 said that they only work in classic mode. Is that correct ? That is my only concern. Thanks for your reply.
