The problem is that Apple didn't write full video drivers for Wallstreet and Lombard in OS X. For Wallstreet, the problem is to use the decoder card, which is a PMCIA card. That card was never recognized under OS X because nobody ever wrote drivers for it, including Apple. For Lombard, I would imagine the hardware decoder is on/with the video card.
