Aloha Group! My first post although I've been lurking for quite a while and have learned loads. Tried my local user group, but so far no solution.
This is a new problem for me -- I've never seen it before. Whenever I insert a blank disk in my PowerBook (Pismo) or in my external QueFire burner, it is not recognized. Tried three different blanks, and none showed up in Finder or anywhere. But when I inserted the same disk in my iMac G4 (Manapua), it pops right up with a message asking what to do with it. Things I've already tried: checking the CD/DVD System Preferences, Repairing Permissions, restarting, and logging on as another user. CDs with information on them are readily recognized. And when I tried using Disk Utility to make a disk image out of the disk I want to copy, the program makes the requested disk image, but then the Burn icon is grayed out! What is going on here? My system looks like this: PowerBook G3 400 576 MB memory 40 MB internal HD 160 MB external HD Matsushita internal CD/DVD drive QueFire External Cd-RW drive External monitor and keyboard Airport network System 10.3.8 (Imac is still running Jaguar) Thanks, Cheryl P.S.
