You ought to be getting the same edu. discount regardless of how many Apple users there are.... well, I mean, if there were a whole lot of them you might get some sort of volume discount. But otherwise, the discount you get for education is pretty good... not quite as good as the employee discount (from what I hear) but close in some situations.
