Caleb, If you get the battery to work properly you will be pleased with the performance, as mine gave me an additional hour of use in my Pismo compared to the Apple battery.
By the way, your questions were not stupid by any means! How else are you going to find things out if you don't ask and this forum is one of the best places to find things out about G3 and G4 issues.
