I'm working with a Wallstreet and a beige G3 MT both running Mac OS 8.6. I have alle the programs I need for these machines and they both do the work I want them to do. And this will continue even when Apple stops supporting the "classic" Mac OS or changes to Intel Macs.... Frankly, I can't understand why people complain about the move to Intel processors or the end of Classic support -- it doesn't affect my computers or my computing habits in the least.
