Well, I think that the CD speed is not the issue here. I had a SCSI 4x
ApplROM CDROM in my old 7500 that could rip mp3s at 2.7x. I think the
problem is that QuickTime doesn't "know" this CDROM and cannot
communicate well with it.
Thanks for the advice though.
