Well, that's a thought but the CD spins fine when it reads audio.
Saying that, I am sure that audio reading doesn't make the CD spin as
fast as it can.

There two conflicting clues here regarding QuickTime being the culprit:

(1) FWBs audio extractor works fine with the drive and can extract
audio tracks to AIFF. However, according to FWB, Quicktime is the
actual extractor.

However...

(2) iTunes and SoundJam cannot extract the same audio tracks to AIFF or
WAV. I am pretty sure that QuickTime is involved in this case as the
audio extractor machinery. So what is the deal here?

So, at the moment I am not really bothered by this little glitch since
I have no clue as to what is going on in there. Just accept the facts I
guess...

As usual, any other ideas are always welcome.
