My only input is that I have had a lot of success with CD/DVD
SpeedTools but I only used it in my 7300 with a scsi internal 24x
Matsushita CD rom (without Apple ROM). I did have problems with
SpeedTools 5.7 and found v5.1 more compatible. V5.7 tries to do more
sophisticated things like sending digital sounds via scsi. I did have
some freezing with v5.7 but not sure why; could be a 3rd party
extension. I didn't need that feature as I soldered a Mac to PC
internal cd audio cable which works very well. I originally used
Apple CD rom extension 5.3.1 which worked pretty good, except it
wouldn't burn audio CD's either form CD's or MP3's. I know also that
Apple CD rom 5.3.1 doesn't work with IDE CD-rom's, as it wouldn't
mount a CD in my beige G3.
