Not all businesses that make a profit are evil or out to hurt others. Don't judge the masses by the few that make the headlines. As a stock holder, I expect ethics, but I also expect to make a profit and have the value of my shares grow. They will do that if they can increase their manufacturing and productivity. That is done through marketing and sales, bottom line. I don't know where this attitude that seems to permeate the air today comes from that making a profit means you've done something wrong. That is what capitalism is based on, profits and expansion. Right now, Apple could use a little of both to bolster up the stock price and be able to continue with R &D. Without the funding via profit, there won't be an OS 3 or 4.
I don't like "sweat shops" or work bins anymore than you do, and I don't think that Apple is into that type of production, but just because they show a profit, doesn't mean they resorted to that in order to make it. Their are still some honest companies and bookkeeping methods in practice in the business world, you just never hear of them. They aren't exciting enough to sell newspapers.
