Lincoln Dunn7/24/02 12:11 [EMAIL PROTECTED]" the less
fortunate. I've been in business for 22 years and I've made a decent profit
for 20 out of those 22 years and I've not crushed anyone. Not all
businesses that make a profit are evil or out to hurt others. Don't judge
the masses by the few that make the headlines. As a stock holder, I expect
ethics, but I also expect to make a profit and have the value of my shares
grow. They will do that if they can increase their manufacturing and
productivity. That is done through marketing and sales, bottom line. I
don't know where this attitude that seems to permeate the air today comes
from that making a profit means you've done something wrong. That is what
capitalism is based on, profits and expansion. Right now, Apple could use a
little of both to bolster up the stock price and be able to continue with R
&D. Without the funding via profit, there won't be an OS 3 or 4.

I don't like "sweat shops" or work bins anymore than you do, and I don't
think that Apple is into that type of production, but just because they show
a profit, doesn't mean they resorted to that in order to make it. Their are
still some honest companies and bookkeeping methods in practice in the
business world, you just never hear of them. They aren't exciting enough to
sell newspapers.
