Something I didn't point out is that printing may be better from OS 9x and it realy runs very stable when you have plenty of RAM. With OS 9x you would only need to buy 128 mb as opposed to 256 mb or more for OS x. And the G3 300 would not be important under OS 9x.
Internal SCSI is slow as the 7100 but OK for a storage drive.
