I was under the impression that they recognize up to 256 MB DIMM's. I 
bought a 256 MB DIMM from Costco, but it was only recognized as a 128. 
My theory is that since it had all the chips on one side, they were too 
high of density for the G3 to recognize. I'm guessing that a low 
profile 256 with chips on both sides would work fine.
