Thanks for the advice. I will consider picking up an external FireWire 
CD-RW, but they seem to be so expensive that I'd probably only consider 
it as a last resort. Hopefully I can find a store with a good return 
policy so if it doesn't work I can just return the drive.

I feel weird paying 3x as much for an external FireWire drive instead 
of an internal one... how much can a FireWire enclosure really cost?
