Okay I just checked the compatibility list and apparently the Lite-On 40125S and 48125W are both fully supported for everything but booting. And that isn't really acceptable. Is it possible to get a 5.25" firewire enclosure for the CD-ROM and use that to boot with? I don't want to have to switch the drives in the computer whenever I want to boot from a CD.
Well... I may be able to live with it. It would be annoying having to open the case to replace the CDRW with the CD-ROM every time I want to boot from a CD, but I don't often boot from CDs. > >> Heh sorry I was gonna put this in my reply but forgot to paste it: >> >> "Personally - I'd never buy a sony CDRW drive - why not get a faster >> (per >> reviews) and cheap Lite-On 40x model (40125S) or 48x (48125W) that >> are fully >> supported in OS X 10.1.5 or 10.2. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
