Hello Mark & All Let me muddy up the waters about QE on PCI Macs. Your comments are invited Equipment: B&W Yosemite V1 / G4 500 - 1MB XLR8 CPU upgrade / 1024MB RAM / X2.1 Radeon 7000 PCI Mac Edition in ATA66MHZ slot drving a VGA HP 17" monitor QE enabled via PCI Extreme-2.0 "patch"( 94k) on Primary Hard Drive (IBM 75GXP) QE NOT enabled on Backup Hard Drive(IBM 60GXP) SpeedRun X 1.1.3 (751K) installed Ran tests With QE enabled, SpeedRun Graphics measured 92 With QE Not enabled SpeedRun Graphics measured 228 !! So what does this mean ? What does SpeedRun Graphics actually measure? Also, researching www.xlr8yourmac.com ; "Feedback on Hack to Enable Quartz Extreme for Radeon PCI cards" several users reported the same SpeedRun measurement results on their boxes Despite the SpeedRun Graphic test results , I will stay with QE enabled, as above. BTW I do not "game" so i really have no way to measure and/or compare any graphic improvements I ran a DVD with QE enabled for about 1 hour. I could not detect any video skips or audio breakups. All appeared "normal". How about that! albert -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
