Umm..didn't that processor card come with software you had to install on the systems under classic? I know that the cards *I* installed did. This software does the same thing as the Sonnet (or other companies) extensions you had to load. XPostFacto patches OSX to allow you to install the software on an unsupported machine. L2CacheConfig, (or Powerlogix' cache control software) enables the beackside cache for the processors. I had to install Powerlogix stuff on my beige G3 when I upgraded it with a G4 so the cache was properly recognized. The next version of XPostFacto (v3.0) is supposed to incorporate this function, though.
