G'day Anne If you've got 2 partitions, they should show as mounting as two disks when you start up.
If only one image shows, then you've probably only got a single partition (sometimes a disk or partition can be set to be always 'unmounted') Use Apples System Profiler or Disk First Aid to check any of this sort of stuff out (just never, ever re-format a disk accidently :-).
