I want to repartition this drive before I move it to the FW. My question: should I do this with the OS X disk utility or the classic drive set up? If I do it with the OS X disk utility, will I be able to "see" the FW drive if I am booted in straight 9.2.2 (not classic)?
Partition with OSX, and when you format the partitions, check the box that says 'Install Classic drivers' (something like that, it's been a while). Then you can format it.
Truth be told, however, it really doesn't matter which one you use to partition the drive, OSX will owrk as happily with the drive as partitioned with Drive Setup in OS 9 as it's own drive setup.
