Hopefully someone can shed some light on this, cause I'm about at the end of the rope with it..
Have a WD 60gb drive in a beige G3, I believe ROM revision A. The drive has been jumpered for MASTER/SINGLE and for CABLE SELECT. Doesn't seem to matter. There's nothing else on the same chain. I can boot from CD fine, but when it comes time to partition the disk, it routinely locks up. I can edit its settings, but the actual partitioning locks this guy right up. Same if I go to erase/format the disk, as well. Now, this used to work without _any_ problems. I used this very drive in this PC with no issues. I can move the drive to an x86 PC and partition/format to my heart's content, but when I move it back to the beige, nothing. THat's all she wrote. I've cleared the pram many times, including a marathon 12x in one sitting (someone here once said it was there experience the beige units really liked to have it done 10x in a row). The G3 has a generic USB card, 512mb of memory, a G4/500 upgrade (currently running at 233mhz), and a x86 Radeon 7000 flashed. Removing memory, pulling the USB and video card gets me no further.
