Looks like I've killed my beige G3. Hit the power switch on the keyboard and
it makes the familiar sound, but that's about it. HD does power up, but it
does not make much noise after that. I've tried it with 3 different drives. Won't boot from the CD or floppy either. I've pressed the CUDA switch a time
or two, didn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas?
Check the battery, it may have gone dead. A simple test is to start the computer give it a second then give it the three fingered salute (Control-Apple-Power). If it then starts up that's a sure sign the battery is dead and needs replacing.
