Thanks Bob, that did the trick. My drive in now reported to be fully supported for burning in the system profiler and iTunes let me finally add the LiteOn drive. I didn't actually try to burn a CD in iTunes, but I did go back to Discribe and try another test write there. Still no go so must not have the RAM it needs. I may find a CDRW around here and do some further testing with iTunes and burning directly from the Finder. Thanks for your help also Bruce. Was glad this turned out to be the problem as I didn't really have a clue as to what you were talking about with the repairing permissions and the DFA?Snipage...
My .02 worth after digging thru xlr8 database & faq's:
This Lite-on is not iTunes supported in OS 9 or X until 10.2.8. See this Link for drivers.
