Nope, I know that it pops up each time I insert a blank CD-R, but I don't know how to write a CD using Finder.

I don't really need to burn CD's on this system as I have many more systems I can use, just wanted to try it out once I got it!
You ARE aware, aren't you that you can just stick in a blank CDR or RW and the Finder will let you write files to it and burn it?
Music CD's can be made with iTunes...I've never needed to *buy* software just to burn CD's...

An image of a CD will pop up in the finder. Drag files to it and when you're done, drag it to the trash, which turns into the little radioactive warnming that Apple uses for 'Burn CD'.
As for iTunes, for some reason it still thinks my Yamaha CDRW is the burner installed. How do you get it to recognize the new LiteOn unit?
Look though the preferences and menus. I'ts neem a long time since I had two installed burners, but there is a place where you tell it which one to use. It may even be in the dialog initiated by 'Burn CD'.
Think I may have figured out why iTunes doesn't recognize it. Went into the system profiler to have a look around, it says this drive is NOT supported for disc burning! What's up with that? I just assumed it was being as it is on yours. Any ideas?
