no kidding! for instance, apple gave them a hard time about it being able to make
bootable disk, because you could then copy system install disk etc. and get them to
boot
(note that you can install a new os with a disk that doesn't boot if there is something
there that works). it's actually easier to make bootable cd's with versions 3.x than
it
is with 4.x and it's a well hidden option in v 5.x. all of this software piracy
paranoia
is really, really hurting the end user.

oh, and by the way, i do "still" us os 9.0 a lot, it works great for all of my older
apps
(if you download the newer versions). i do also use os x which i'm slowly learning
(well,
actually that machine is down now, but i have started learning it anyway and i'm sure
i'll
use it more and more). i also still use 8.6 on an older machine, even though it could
run
9.x because 9.x is slower and doesn't do anything special that i need. hell, i also
have
laptops running system 7, but i don't do much on those of course. there's no need to
be a
snob about using os x instead of os 9, it's not like someone using windows instead of
os x
(oh yeah, and i do that as well since i have some pc software already paid for and
some pc
only software, much of which doesn't like softwindows and a not too old pc can be had
dirt
cheap. hell, i'll even be using bsd soon, i am a heretic and proud of it!

the U.S. media is now state controlled! Ask your' local tv station why
the hell they aren't airing the news any more! Our system of government
requires an informed public, with their eyes open.
