Problem is that these crives on ebay are 1.5" high which is too much. 1" or less will be what I want. I am experimenting with linux and networking so I want an old reliable mac. SCSI is nice and fast plus Mac OS is stable and less prone to attack. I am getting the impression that there is only about 9GB available in the low profile 50 pin scsi drives. Why does Mac OS 9 have to be installed? If I use OS X only, why add another OS?
