Though I'm not a guru, here's my 2� worth:

I've never used xPostfacto and never intend to, what with B+W G3's being
readily available for reasonable prices, and OS X runs great on them

I use Safari 2 on a B+W, and Foxfire for other items; others have also
indicated Opera and Camino are good; heck, I use iCab on my beige G3 running
OS 9.2.2, and I've paid bills with that - all have, imho, beat the pants off
IE, any version, hands down. When I log onto the Comcast home site w/
IE 5.2.3, I get a "you need to upgrade your browser" message as you speak
of. I do the same with any of the other above-mentioned browsers, it reads
all (including the video) like a "piece of cake".
