I was also taking counterpoint to your post. This is after all a _discussion list_.
Solution for the bin, create an alias of the real bin and stick it on the desktop.
Now that makes sense. Why didn't I think of that? I'll try it and see if it works. Question though: Where's the original of the trash can?
Not sure, not bothered, but you can probably solve the rest of your gripes by searching versiontracker.com for some 3rd party bits...
