For example, a gateway uses what is an ATX PS in all regards except screw mounting hole placement. If my PS fails in my Apple, I want to be able to spend $35 at Best Buy for a replacement, not $200 from Apple. Furthermore, ATX is nothing but a standard. If Apple can profit by selling motherboards why shouldnt they do it? Why build a motherboard that will only fit in another case by drilling new mounting holes unless you wanna force people to buy complete systems from you?
