First you say, "I'm glad to be reassured that Apple won't become another

Dell". Then you say, "I hope they use and sell ATX motherboards". Think

about that a minute........................

If Apple starts using generic ATX motherboards and other generic PC

components, then what will that make them? Right, just another Dell! If

Apple just starts stuffing generic PC parts in Apple-designed cases,

other than OS X, what will make the "Macintel" anything different than a

Dell or a Gateway? >>

Dell and gateway use proprietary parts to force you to buy replacements from
them. For example, a gateway uses what is an ATX PS in all regards except
screw mounting hole placement. If my PS fails in my Apple, I want to be able
to
spend $35 at Best Buy for a replacement, not $200 from Apple. Furthermore,
ATX is nothing but a standard. If Apple can profit by selling motherboards why
shouldnt they do it? Why build a motherboard that will only fit in another
case by drilling new mounting holes unless you wanna force people to buy
complete systems from you? I could go on and on...
