Well, I decided to reset it, and it came up into OS X. I then decided to run
Disk Utility to verify disk permissions, walked away for five minutes, and
when I came back, it had happened again! Hopefully, the screen will come back
up when the process is done, but otherwise, well, it'll probably be back to
10.2.0 for me (unless that would make no difference, of course). Once again,
any suggestions?
