It just works. And it works very well, on Mac's or PC's. I'm still a big SCSI fan from way back, but if you're not familiar with the hardware specs the learning curve is pretty steep. And, as Bruce pointed out, the cost is about one fourth for FireWire.

For mundane chores like file transfers it just rocks. For audio and video work it is indispensable.
