Thanks, Bruce. I went ahead with a clean install. I suppose I should have
waited for some help to come like your suggestion. Sounds a whole lot
simpler and faster than a clean install. Now I need to go into my hard drive
and delete the previous system folder. I used to do this with no problem in
OS9, I hope I can do it Panther OK.

So you don't know any of the passwords in the keychain? Start  
Keychain Access in the Utilities folder, delete the keychain 'login'.

It will be recreated when you next enter a password and are asked if  
you want to save it.
