Hi All,

Just a note about installing Tiger on my B&W.

Finally picked up a compatible DVD drive, a Lite-On SOHW-1693S... DVD +/- R/RW dual format, double layer drive. I had to use Patchburn 3 under 10.3.9 to get the machine to see the drive, but it was bootable. The Tiger DVD install was much less hassle than Panther's 3 CD's. Under 10.4.3, the drive is seen by all apps without the need for Patchburn,

Bruce is happily running Tiger and I'm quite pleased with it so far. It does seem a bit slower in the initial startup, but once loaded, I have no complaints.

Bruce is a Rev. 2 B&W-350 with an XLR8 G4-450 upgrade, 1 GB ram, 60 & 20 GB hard drives, USB 2.0 PCI card and 40 GB firewire external drive.... and the DVD.

Amanda
