I'm really sorry to hear that. Personally, I think Panther is the
best OS Apple has ever released. Second to System 6, that is.
The Intel machines do not worry me, I probably will never have one.

I don't know about anybody else, but I will probably go back to
building my own systems (with AMD processors!), and run some flavor of
Linux on them. And I hate to burst the bubble of anybody who thinks
that with Apple using Intel processors the prices of Macs will
drastically drop. Intel processors are the most expensive of any chip
builder.
