Tiger rocks on my B&W -- 300 MHz and 256 MB RAM. It's better at 384
MB RAM. And will be better still with more.
Is there a version of Tiger supplied on several CDs, not on a DVD?
Yes. Orderable from Apple. Thiy have a cheap swap deal for the DVD.
But remember that OS X is a monolithic installation. So IMO it would
be easier to stick her HD in another Mac with DVD, do the install,
then move it back. Or maybe boot her in firewire disk mode and load
it that way.
