Spot on. This G-list is full of very knowledgeable people, most of them
(us) fairly rational and clear-thinking too. That's why we prefer to
take out questions here. I have been a member of some of the other
specialized lists, but never got the accurate and fast reponses I get
here. At least at the moment, this seems to be THE power list at LEM!
That's why iMac questions end up here and not on the iMac list (which
isnt very active), and besides most iMacs run G type processors too.
Bruce is right. The splitting up into ever more LEM lists isn't a good
idea. If we all went to our "correct" lists (one for iMacs, one for
iBooks,...) we wouldn't need a G-list at all. So I take the liberty of
staying here with my iBook, instead of the G-book list.
After all, most questions here are software related, and thus relevant
whatever Mac you use. Isn't that why we have these Macs, to run
software on them? The underlaying hardware isn't really that
interesting, just a necessary evil to have my virtual OSX world
dancing!
In a way, this is an unsolvable problem. I am the sort of person who
sort of gets used to a group and would happily and even prefer to
discuss everything with them - if they would allow it and not get too
shirty.
