What I need to know is, is anybody successfully running IE 5.23 under Tiger being it is no longer supported? If not, is there another browser app out there that will allow me to open these IE archived pages?
I open IE 5 and 5.1.6 fine under Tiger. I do it for curiosity and sometimes to investigate some html and css issues.... Go for it! Of course, you cannot run it native, it must and does open in Classic, so you must have Classic set up.
Have to say I got a funny feeling reading your post! I use X most reluctantly (but all the time now) for just the reason that IE and all or most pre X browsers are not under any further development and IE is particularly behind in its handling of modern web styling standards (CSS).
(btw, I had an issue yesterday about browsers, only IE did what I wanted on my machine. Only on IE does the piano music simply play on my machine: http://dorayme.150m.com/test/piano.html I do not have other pre X browsers on my machine at the moment due to a recent rebuild but none of the X ones just handled the thing, Safari messed about and displayed a big Q - I know QT, but it did not play it! IE (Mac) was a very fine browser indeed and I have argued its strengths before...)
