Guess I should have tried it before sending the last message. iCab
didn't work. I also decided I'd try Firefox too but no luck there
either. So still open to ideas...

A further thought to archiving transfer: you can get the pics! But it is a manual job that you might not have the patience or skill for... You open the archives in IE, you do what I said in last post re saving the source file. You screen capture all the pics you want and save them to disk. You look closely at the html source and alter the img src references to match the pics you have saved (and named appropriately).

May I suggest you just open the things in IE and in future use a more transparent archiving in modern browsers like Mozilla and Firefox!

While on this subject, let me take a quick look at Safari. Apple are no less tricky than MS these days and I would not be surprised if they have their own non-transparancy. Hang on a mo...

Yep, MS style archive, tricky tricky pic locations... Now look at Mozilla (and doubtless Firefox) for X. Here it is beautiful. It saves the html and in a folder one level down, right there where you have chosen (desktop for instance) are the pics, the css files, all there to be plucked out, used, tossed about.

Have Apple realised that Bill Gates has made a lot of MONEY doing things his way and thought, blow all this transparency nonsense, lets make a quid. OK! Fair enough I suppose, fair enough about Google and China. The world is doomed anyway, anyone see the news about the melting of the ice over Alaska threatening the release of massive amounts more of CO2 via the exposure of dead plants?

Lets all huddle together dear Mac users for old times sake and comfort as the doom approaches...
