Quake had a relatively steep learning curve, but that's cuz it had so many 
different buttons that did various things, and the navigational system 
wasn't very good--and still needs lots of work, for that matter.  But as far 
as 3d positioning goes, I don't think it's that difficult, especially with 
the use of crosshair beeps and such like, I.e. Lone Wolf.
