Relax. I didn't mean to imply that was an actual quote. I was as active in the whole re-org discussions as any non-member could be, and if I remember correctly, there was little if any discussion of the creation of apache-commons in any forum I had access to. There certainly was very little discussion of this on the jakarta-commons list, and the resulting apache-commons PMC has/had very little overlap with the jakarta-commons commuinity. With the strong overlap in scope and mission, it's hard to interpet the message in many other ways. Talk of "coercing" the j-c community into moving here has a similiar implication. "Care" here would have been engaging the j-c community from the beginning, rather than creating a-c and trying to figure out how to "coerce" that community to move here.
