Please note the track on hg18, short label on the control button: "Hg19 Diff" in the first section of control buttons "Mapping and Sequencing Tracks"
If you turn on this track, it indicates this contig for your hg18 position, AC021317.19, was dropped in the transition to hg19. Comparing this same region in hg19, it appears that the gap in hg18: chr17:33429231-33529230 was resolved by using two new contigs. On the hg19 browser, there is also the track: "Patches to GRCh37 Reference Sequence" which indicates this region is still under construction and has additional updates to this same location.
