No, I didn't use genkernel, I did almost exactly what suggested, except I ran "make oldconfig" to upgrade my .config from the previous one. Also I had no need to edit grub (that I know of). I have Reiser Support in the kernel, but missing two other Reiser-related options: % grep -i REI .config CONFIG_REISERFS_FS=y # CONFIG_REISERFS_CHECK is not set # CONFIG_REISERFS_PROC_INFO is not set % Maybe it's one of those other ones.
