You already know my feedback .. ie if I was the OGC fixing this problem I would go with: <OnlineResource> http://www.iconrepo.com/<PropertyName>filenameAttribute</PropertyName>.png </OnlineResource> In order to be consistent with how TextSymbolizer handles labels, but since I am not the OGC; your solution looks pretty darn good. For reference the new stuff SE 1.1 brings to the party is the: - idea of InlineContent as an alternative to an OnlineResource. - idea of a MarkIndex, it is still just a static value; even worse it is a static int. Eclesia you were wondering if SE 1.1 helped? The above two things are what has changed with respect to this problem; neither of which lets us drive an Expression into the mix...
