We have recently purchased 2 gerbils. Started out with an aquarium - used lots of peat etc, but became concerned as the inside of the gerbilarium got damper and damper and full of tiny flies......   Changed to more hay/ straw, but gerbils did not appear very happy.....   Now have a rotastak, with wood shavings. Sadly, the gerbils (Nutmeg and Cocoa) don't appear able to climb the vertical tubes, even with ladders in them.   What should we do?   I'm worried as my partner keeps purchasing more and more gerbilly bits - Should I just go back to the gerbilarium? My son and daughter are worried too!   Thanks! Pat
