yes.  

well, more or less.  There is some artifacts that appear which don't
happen normally.   I think it has to do with opengl throughput.  On
smaller files (720:480), this does not happen.


However, the darndest thing happened.   gmerlin and gmerlin_play as well
as gmerlin_recorder don't work anymore.  I now see the white rectangle
again.  I swear they used to work fine.

Could I just have a buggy XV that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't?
