No, XVideo is just not used because it was disabled by my latest patch ;(

Arggh! Had to introduce this check to prevent a crash on another
machine....

I researched a bit about OpenGL textures appearing white. Seems it's the common
behaviour if OpenGL fails to create/initialize a texture object. I'll continue
recearching.

In the meantime, could you send me your output of glxinfo?
I'm using some advanced features, like texture sizes which aren't a power of two
(if supported by an OpenGL extension). If something goes wrong here, the white 
image
would be the result.
