And to add to that, if you have a network of systems you want to back 
up, it's really nice to have a few spare gig to use as a holding disk 
to store dumps on.  I set amanda to use 4 and 6 gig "chunks" for file 
storage.  I will probably bump this up to equal the average size of 
my file systems if I can, since the few files you have to flush to 
tape the more efficient things are.
