Personally, I wish you would un-hardcode it. I don't consider that it
looks good at the best of times, and it screws up harpsichord music
no end. When a note is many ledger lines off the staff, it looks best
if the stem is reversed to point inward, to keep staff lines from
being put too far apart. But, it then should be shorter than normal,
not longer, so it doesn't interfere with other parts on the staff.
