Things are worse than I thought with regard to this bogus post-hoc war propaganda book by Richard Miniter, ironically, and aptly titled "Disinformation" because that is what it appears to contain. It turns out that the above assertions regarding uranium and radioactive materials are outright deceptions. Please read the following USA Today news report entitled "U.S. transferred uranium from Iraq without U.N. authorization" to understand what I am talking about: http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2004-07-07-iraq-uranium_x.htm Here are the most pertinent excerpts from it: "...The nearly 2 tons of low-enriched uranium and approximately 1,000 highly radioactive items transferred from Iraq to the United States last month had been placed under seal by the International Atomic Energy Agency at the sprawling Tuwaitha nuclear complex, 12 miles south of Baghdad, the officials said..." "...In 1992, after the first Gulf War, all highly enriched uranium which could be used to make nuclear weapons was shipped from Iraq to Russia, the IAEA's Zlauvinen said. After 1992, roughly 2 tons of natural uranium, or yellow cake, some low enriched uranium and some depleted uranium was left at Tuwaitha under IAEA seal and control, he said. So were radioactive items used for medical, agricultural and industrial purposes, which Iraq was allowed to keep under a 1991 U.N. Security Council resolution, Zlauvinen said..." Personal attacks and insults against me as a result of this exposure of bogus information will be regarded as vindication of my point of view. They will therefore be triumphantly ignored.
