I suggest that you ask someone else in your house to explain what I said in my
post.

Mervyn, it is hard to understand why you embarrass yourself this way:-))

I have already proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that you know very little
about how the US government is organized, or how the US Federal Reserve system
is organized - about as much as you know about investing in gold as your series
of three comical explanations about how you picked the low price of gold
showed, not to mention your prediction that gold would hit $1,650 while
admitting you had no idea when. Anyone who knows even a little about investing
knows that such a price forecast without some time frame makes the forecast
useless.

Then, whenever you are trapped in some ridiculous statement and exposed, you
jump to something else, as you are doing right now.

Here is your nonsensical comment, "Even though the mainstream media did not
report it, I heard ALL the banks were closed in California on Monday, October
13th. Hope the good folks there soon have access to their money
again."
>
Clearly, your expectation that the mainstream media would report that banks in
California would be closed on October 13 shows you didn't have a clue about
that day being Columbus Day, a national holiday when all banks around the US
were closed, not just in California. Then you seemed surprised that many
private organizations in the US can choose to remain open on national holidays,
which made my point once again about your lack of knowledge about the US.
>
Just FYI, because you seemed so concerned about "the good folks" in California,
you will be happy to learn that they all had access to their money the morning
of October 14, when all the banks were open, and the mainstream media did not
report that either:-))

can you explain to all Goanetters what happens when 61 Senators are Democrats??

It is not other Goanetters who need to know the facts. They are not the ones
who keep embarrassing themselves with comical statements about the US like you
do, time and time again. No one else on Goanet exposes their lack of knowledge
about the US the way you do.

Re. your question, it all depends on whether they all agree to vote the same
way on any piece of legislation or not. If they do all agree they can
over-ride a presidential veto, which will hardly be necessary if Obama is
elected because he votes 100% with the Congressional Democrats who currently
have a 9% approval rating. However, there are philosophical differences on
many issues between the far left wing of the Democrat party and the more
conservative southern wing of the Democrat party, so achieving a veto proof
Senate is not very easy on most issues.

It's called free-enterprise, Mervyn, which is quite different than the
socialist economic basket cases you seem to have so much admiration for.

I hear the companies in Canada do the same, where the socialists whom Mervyn
supports had their lunch handed to them a few days ago:-))

Hey, Mervyn , please tell all Goanetters what it means to have your lunch
handed to you in a political contest. Here's a clue, folks:

In the US we re-train our workers whose jobs become obsolete so that they can
find work in businesses of the future.
